Find your future with us.The signing of a new contract has resulted in an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Asset Management Specialist to join the team and to be responsible for monitoring and controlling Software License Management and Software Application Installation Management across the business, as well as providing the information required enabling an organisation to remain legally compliant.The position responsibilities will include providing advice and guidance to the business users, reporting on and ensuring adherence to IT Software usage and License purchase policies.The individual must have a keen eye for detail and the ability to address ever changing priorities and demands whilst maintaining a cast iron focus on the of customers in a rapid, responsive manner. This role is located in Bristol/Milton Keynes with the ability to work remotely and onsite as part of a hybrid working pattern.The role’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Management of software vendor auditsLoading and validation of software licensing/purchasing and license entitlement data into the organization’s software asset management system/process (Flexera).Influencing the strategic development and daily operation of the organization’s software asset management processes and systemsInputting to the definition of the governance structures; supporting and conducting audits of software licensing compliance (as necessary) to validate/prove the system/process effectiveness and accuracyDeveloping the policies and processes for managing the software asset lifecycle for softwareDesign and production of enterprise software asset related reports both pro-actively (dashboard, inventory reports, etc.) and as needed/requested (ad hoc reports)Planning, monitoring, and recording of enterprise software assets to ensure alignment with software license and software maintenance agreementsContributing to the growth and development of the Asset Management capabilityProviding vendor licensing expertise to both internal and external customersIdentifying and implementing opportunities to optimize software licenses used in the enterprise computing environmentDeveloping and communicating enterprise software asset management policy, system and process governance reportingProducing monthly reports to various stakeholders, i.e. departmental managers, Application Owners and the appropriate nominated clientsLiaising with stakeholders of all levels within the organization, as well as partnering with key software asset management stakeholdersEmployer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidate will be expected to undergo a SECURITY CHECK.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)Sound knowledge of Software Licensing across a range of key software vendors and their enterprise licensing vehicles (including: Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, Redhat)Significant experience of managing software, within a Software Asset Management teamSolid understanding and proven track record in software licensing models and compliance managementAn ability to spot, qualify and leverage new licensing opportunitiesA strong understanding of technology, emerging technologies and the broader market outside softwareThe ability to develop long term relationships as a trusted partner for BDUK customersThe ability to drive internal collaboration and lead virtual teamsUnderstanding of the key roles and functions of all ITIL disciplineAbility to assimilate and interpret technical languageGood knowledge of current technology and up to date software vendor license modelsExperience with using the Flexera or Microfocus Asset Management tools would be advantageousSoftware Asset Management Qualifications would be highly beneficialITIL qualifications and experience would be highly beneficialWider IT/Technical background would be an advantageAll information provided will be checked and may be verified.Please apply for this role as soon as possible, as recruitment may commence before the end date.Important information regarding this requisition:This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK.
